5 Keys to Keeping your 2015 Resolution to be Fit – Yana Hempler

If you are like most people, you are probably just getting bored of your 2015 resolution. Although “getting fit and healthy” is one of the most common New Year’s Resolutions, over 90% of people give up on it and return to their unhealthy lifestyle within the first 3 months of starting.
What sets those who keep their resolutions apart from those who don’t?
The answer is below.
1. Setting realistic goals. A lifestyle change doesn’t happen overnight so don’t expect fast results in the beginning.
2. Keeping track of your progress. Success is measured by the distance traveled from where you started.
3. Being aware of potential setbacks. Whenever you are starting any kind of life-changing journey, you will encounter some setbacks. The key is to recognize what the possible setbacks could be and then take the necessary steps to overcome them.
4. Making exercise and healthy eating a priority. If you have a specific fitness goal that you are working towards, you will have to prioritize your life so that healthy eating and exercise are at the top. Furthermore, healthy habits must stay at the top of that priority list.
5. Being in the company of positive and supportive people. It’s important to share your goals with people who believe in you and who will encourage you to do your best, such as your trainer/coach, friends and family. Try to minimize contact with negative people as they¬†will¬†drag you down and keep you from achieving your fitness goals.
