TOP 10 – Van Isle October
1. McNab’s Corn Maze (October 1st – 31st)åWhat better month to visit a Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch! With a different pattern every year, the maze has grown in popularity and is now host to thousands of visitors each fall. This year over 20,000 pumpkin plants have been planted so there will be a great selection to choose from for your Halloween Jack-O-Lanterns!
2. The Phoenix Theatre presents West: A Tribute to BC Trailblazers (October 12th – 21st)
Celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary with two short solo plays profiling two of our nation’s pioneering spirits. Travel with Catherine O’Hare Schubert in Lady Overlander for a lively first-person account of the legendary woman. Then, join charismatic American prospector Fred Marshall Wells in The Fred Wells Show.
3. Gordon Lightfoot at the McPherson Playhouse (October 23rd and 24th) 
A national treasure, Gordon Lightfoot is beloved by music fans around the world. In 1966, his debut album Lightfoot! was released. Tracks such as For Lovin’ Me, Early Morning Rain, Steel Rail Blues and Ribbon of Darkness brought him international recognition as a songwriter.
4. Shantero Productions presents Derek Edwards in Victoria, Duncan, Nanaimo, Courtney and Campbell River! (October 20th – 24th)
Alls I’m Saying is brazenly tentative! Like a sniper with the hiccups, Derek Edwards takes aim at life’s galling moments, exhales slowly and jerks back the trigger. A riotous evening of homegrown comedy — like taking a ride in an open golf cart with a good friend and a 6 pack.
5. Paul Mercs Concerts Presents André-Philippe Gagnon (October 3rd – 6th)
André-Philippe Gagnon’s uncanny ability to deliver an impression per minute of fun will leave you gasping for more. The fast-paced delivery with numerous impressions and comedy rolled into one to create a Total Entertainment Experience.
And Jesse Cook (October 25th and 26th)
 Jesse Cook is a Canadian guitarist, composer, and producer. Widely considered one of the most influential figures in “nuevo flamenco” music, he incorporates elements of flamenco rumba, jazz & many forms of world music into his work.
6. Raffi (November 3rd – 5th and November 19th)
Raffi is a singer, songwriter, producer, author, lecturer, and tireless advocate for children. He is best known for his work as a children’s entertainer whose string of gold and platinum-selling recordings in North America includes his classic song, “Baby Beluga”.
And the Northern Pikes, brought to you by Paul Mercs Concerts (November 11th – 14th)
The Norther Pikes are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their first album, “Big Blue Sky”.  Formed in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1984, and after the release of six studio and two live albums, plus other compilations and collaborations, they were inducted into the Western Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2012 and continue to be a crowd favourite whenever they tour.

8. IMAX Victoria presents The Search for Life in Space
Journey from the depths of the Pacific Ocean into the far reaches of space on a quest to find something that changes everything…signs of life, somewhere else in the universe. With cutting-edge imagery from the world’s most powerful telescopes, The Search for Life in Space takes audiences from the surface of Mars and the icy moons of Jupiter and Saturn, to the extreme lava fields of Hawaii and thermal vents deep beneath the sea.
9. Silent Sky at the Chemainus Theatre
Henrietta Leavitt sees greatness in the stars – if only others saw the brilliance in her. While many earthly complications stand in her way, her astonishing discoveries of astronomy, family, and love will change everyone’s (outer) worldly perspective.
10. Just for Laughs Canadian Comedy Tour
Fresh from hosting two critically acclaimed sold-out Galas at the 35th edition of the Montreal International Just For Laughs Comedy Festival this July, the JFL Tour will see Sugar Sammy, along with the cynically good natured Alonzo Bodden and the hilarious Gina Brillon, perform in prestigious theatres across Canada.

11. The Belfry Theatre presents Onegin
A lush, passionate and acclaimed new musical about trying not to fall in love. When Onegin, a dashing but jaded aristocrat from St. Petersburg, inherits his uncle’s estate in the country, his arrival sets hearts afire and stirs the embers of jealousy. Will playing with lonely Russian hearts reap heartbreak or romance?

12.Paquette Productions presents A Tribute to Elvis in Concert (October 11th and 12th)
Featuring two of the world’s most coveted Elvis Tribute Artists known today: Pete Paquette from Toronto and Chris Connor from the United Kingdom. This dynamic duo have been performing in front of thousands of Elvis fans across our nation. Accompanied by an eleven-piece band, their incredible talents and showmanship makes this show a MUST SEE live concert for any rock’n roll music fan.

13. Langham Court Theatre presents Girl in the Goldfish Bowl (September 27th – October 14th)
Langham Court Theatre launches its 89th Season in grand style with the Governor General’s award-winning comedy, Girl in the Goldfish Bowl, directed by Janet Munsil. Girl in the Goldfish Bowl provides a quirky blend of compassion and humour: a funny, perfect evening’s entertainment.
